Join our MUSC Health Chester Medical Center team as a Medical Lab Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist and contribute to delivering accurate, life-saving results that support physicians in providing exceptional patient care. We seek detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to quality laboratory medicine.

Education includes a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, with MT (ASCP) or equivalent required and MLT (ASCP) within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
MLT (ASCP) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized moderate to high complexity laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens.
Ensure accurate and reliable test results through strict quality control practices.
Perform instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to departmental procedures.
Maintain laboratory records and statistical data in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Train and mentor new employees and students on lab procedures and policies.
Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required.
Assist in all laboratory areas to support patient care.
Help provide shift coverage when needed.
