Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Professional to join our Central Lab Microbiology team. The role processes waived to highly complex tests, with opportunities to oversee workflow and contribute to procedure development.

The position is 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) on a day/evening shift with every 3rd weekend rotation, including both Saturday and Sunday. Training and competency oversight are part of the role within a diverse lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related laboratory field with clinical rotations or equivalent per CLIA '88.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived to highly complex laboratory procedures across lab areas.
• Evaluates results for accuracy and resolves complex test problems.
• Maintains instrument maintenance and quality control; documents actions.
• Trains students and new employees and participates in competency observations.
• May act as Charge Tech in absence of Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
• Collects samples and ensures proper patient identification and specimen handling.
• Greets patients, manages patient orders, and ensures regulatory compliance.
