Job summary

Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, MN seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine tests, ensure QC, and provide accurate data for clinicians. You will maintain analyzers, manage specimens, and work with a compassionate team to support patient care.

The role requires MLS/ASCP or MT(AMT) registration or eligibility within 1 year, a BS in science, and a rotating shift. On-site, full-time with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• MLS/ASCP or MT(AMT) registration or ability to attain within 1 year from hire.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science.
• Minimum one year medical laboratory training or equivalent experience.

### Job Duties

Medical laboratory scientists are responsible for performing medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease as ordered by a physician. The scientist ensures proper patient and specimen identification and oversees quality control evaluation, supply management, and proper maintenance of analyzers and data. The scientist demonstrates competency, knowledge and skills necessary to interact with and advocate for patients. The scientist works closely with clinicians to provide the best diagnostic information, while striving to provide the highest quality patient services following established and accepted techniques. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and members of the community.

### Minimum Education Required

• MLS (ASCP) or MT(AMT) registered or must be able to attain within one (1) year from date of hire.
