Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform a variety of tests on blood, tissue and body fluids using automated and manual methods. You will ensure timely reporting to support patient care and participate in equipment validation and QA tasks.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in medical technology, with preference for 6–12 months in an acute care lab and CLIA High Complexity qualification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in medical technology or equivalent CLIA-qualified path.
  • Prefer 6 months to 1 year medical laboratory technologist experience in acute care.
  • CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST license/certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Process and test all types of lab specimens using automated and manual methods.
  • Review and report lab results to assist patient care; maintain instrument maintenance and calibration.
  • Support new equipment validation, employee training, and quality assurance activities.

Job Summary

Full Time, Rotate

Up to $5,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months

Performs a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue and body fluids using both automated and manual methods. Ensures accurate, timely reporting of lab test results in order to assist medical staff in patient care.

Responsibilities

Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens, reviews and reports lab results, performs operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Acts as resource to other laboratory personnel. Additional responsibility includes assisting with new equipment validation and implementation, employee training and competency assessment, regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TCJ, AABB or other agencies, and quality assurance, quality control and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or Associated Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on a HHS examination or equivalent prior to 2/28/92 42 CFR 493.1491. The above meets required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489 and 42 CFR 493.1491).

Experience:

Prefer 6 months to 1 year medical laboratory technologist, clinical laboratory scientist experience in acute care facility.

License
