Job summary

Baptist Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for Baptist Jacksonville’s Laboratory Services, Microbiology. This PRN, various shifts position involves maintaining technical proficiency, specimen processing, LIS duties, and clerical tasks with supervision by the Director and supervisors.

The role includes supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and acting as Charge Technologist when needed. Licensure in Florida as a Medical Technologist is required, with AS degree minimum; prior to 1997

Qualifications

• Associates of Science degree required.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist per Florida DOH requirements.
• Licensure as Medical Technologist preferred/required by Florida rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor; serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.
