• AdventHealth Kissimmee is a 242-bed community-focused hospital
• Conveniently located near Walt Disney World
• The team is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties
• AdventHealth Kissimmee has recently expanded with a new tower, including inpatient rehab, dialysis, laboratory, and imaging services.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas as licensed/certified. Work involves analytical testing of blood and biological specimens, requiring theoretical and practical knowledge. Duties include pre- and post-analytical processes, quality control, and on-call hours may be required. Follows laboratory policies and maintains quality standards. Participates in customer service and maintains respectful relationships.

• Performs pre-analytical activities such as equipment maintenance, specimen collection, and inventory control.
• Performs tests and procedures accurately, adhering to standards and regulations, including proficiency testing.
• Reports results, including abnormal findings, and provides support across age groups.
• Provides orientation and training to new staff and students, documenting accordingly.
• Guides technicians, resolves customer issues, and supports clinical staff, facilitating workflow as needed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences.
• In licensure states, licensure in appropriate specialties; in non-licensure states, national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT).

Preferred qualifications:

• Two years of technical experience.
