Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George’s County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George’s County.
Job Description
Full time night shift 10:00pm-6:30am, M-F with alternating weekends and holidays.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II (MLS II) role, under general supervision, performs analyses on a variety of sample types. Maintains proper records and utilizes independent judgement to generate acceptable test results. Responsible for quality, efficiency and safety in the performance of laboratory functions. Serves as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences; an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program with experience required.
Experience: Three years of clinical laboratory experience required.
Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent.
