Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our skilled lab team in a fast-paced setting. You will perform a wide range of clinical laboratory testing with accuracy, and communicate results clearly to care teams while adhering to CHAMP and HRO standards.

Required BS in Medical Laboratory Science or Biological Science, ASCP eligible, 0-2 years' experience, and strong customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Science or equivalent ASCP eligible or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills; teamwork oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform wide range of clinical laboratory testing with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards.
• Transfer testing and pending follow ups between shifts per CHAMP and HRO standards.
• Maintain licensure and continuing education requirements.

Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion by utilizing technical and problem solving skills in conjunction with a thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory principles. Maintains effective communications and transfers testing and pending follow ups between employees and shifts following all CHAMP and HRO standards. Maintains all Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards at all times. Maintains operational effectiveness and assumes full responsibility for continuing education requirements, licensure, and expertise to adapt as needed to an expanding department with increased testing complexity.

PHYSICAL DEMAND
