Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform a wide range of clinical laboratory testing with accuracy and timeliness. The candidate will maintain Quality Control and QA standards and coordinate testing handoffs between shifts while communicating effectively with colleagues.

Requirements include a BS in Medical Laboratory Science or Biology and ASCP eligibility, with 0–2 years of experience.

Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion by utilizing technical and problem solving skills in conjunction with a thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory principles. Maintains effective communications and transfers testing and pending follow ups between employees and shifts following all CHAMP and HRO standards. Maintains all Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards at all times. Maintains operational effectiveness and assumes full responsibility for continuing education requirements, licensure, and expertise to adapt as needed to an expanding department with increased testing complexity.

PHYSICAL DEMAND
