Job summary

The University of Iowa’s Department of Pathology is hiring Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Core Lab. This full-time, third-shift position (Sunday–Thursday, 2300–0730) offers a $5,000 sign-on incentive based on experience.

Work on campus in a state-of-the-art Core Laboratory supporting chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and more. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field or ASCP/NCA credentials, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology program from an accredited institution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex quantitative and qualitative analyses on clinical specimens.
• Interpret and report test results; provide guidance on methodology and interpretation to healthcare providers.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation; participate in evaluating new equipment.
