Job summary

Piedmont Macon North is seeking a Medical Technologist to independently perform and oversee laboratory procedures across age groups, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. The role requires competency demonstration and adherence to established testing protocols.

The position offers a sign-on bonus and a 7-on/7-off evening schedule (12:30–22:00). Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science is preferred, with relevant certifications as required by Georgia regulations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED plus sufficient college/technical coursework and clinical training to satisfy testing/certification requirements.
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science or life/biological sciences preferred.
• No experience required; 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist preferred.
• Certification by ASCP/AMT/AAB per Georgia regs required; provisional options may apply for recent movers.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs laboratory procedures for which trained and competency demonstrated.

• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations. Upon Hire Required or
• A person who recently moved into the state of Georgia or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be temporarily classified as technologists or technicians for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination. within 1-1/2 Yrs Required
• AAB provisional certification not accepted
