Job summary

Children's Mercy Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist for the East Campus with evening shift differential eligibility. You will perform complex laboratory procedures, participate in QA/QC, and ensure accurate test reporting.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to hospital standards. Starting pay is $32.70 per hour; on-site work only at East Campus, primarily Monday-Friday, 12 pm–8:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years experience; MLS rotations may count as experience.
• Associate's degree with 1-2 years experience; clinical lab experience preferred.
• Must obtain Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist Int - ASCP within 180 days.
• MT - ASCP Certified Medical Technologist within 6 months of hire.
• Certification in a Lab Specialty required.

Responsibilities

Overview

This position is responsible for the performance of a variety of laboratory tests in an accurate and timely manner. Professional judgment is exercised to ascertain the appropriateness of the test orders, the validity of test results and to communicate this information to the physician.

• Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience Preferred Clinical Laboratory experience
• Employees must obtain Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist Int - ASCP or equivalent within 180 days
• MT - ASCP Certified Medical Technologist - ASCP within 6 months of hire Required
• Certification in a Lab Specialty Required

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.70/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
