Denver Health is seeking an MLS/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform, authenticate, and report tests per policy. The role requires QA/QC maintenance, documentation, and timely communication of results.
Training and competency development support is provided for the MLS program, with compliance to regulatory standards. Employees must pursue MLS(ASCP) certification within 3 months of graduation or hire, and the position may vacate if certification isn’t obtained within specified timeframes.
Laboratory Services
Work for an ASCP-designated Leading Laboratory, recognized for excellence in quality outcomes, professional development, trusted leadership, and laboratory visibility.
Under minimal supervision, independently performs, authenticates and reports all tests analyses according to laboratory policies and procedures.
Performs required Quality Control and maintenance to ensure valid and accurate test results.
Records and maintains appropriate documentation to support pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing components.
Identifies and resolves problems with test analysis and consults with the supervisors, Director of Laboratory Administration, or the Director of Services when appropriate and according to established protocol.
Facilitates quality patient care outcomes in a timely manner.
Employees in this role must sit for the MLS(ASCP) certification exam within 3 months of graduating their MLS program or within 3 months of hire date, whichever is applicable to the employee's situation. This position shall be vacated within 3 months of attaining MLS(ASCP) certification. Additionally, if the employee is unable to obtain MLS(ASCP) certification, the position shall be vacated within 12 months of first exam attempt.
Bachelor's Degree Required or
High School Diploma or GED AND current enrollment or recent completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Science. Required
