Responsibilities

• 1.Understands and adheres to Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
• 2.Demonstrate knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures and their execution
• 3.Handle telephone inquiries, transfer as needed
• 4.Receive, accession and process specimens in order to ensure timely reporting of results. Ensures positive patient identification
• 5.Perform registration in HIS as needed
• 6.Process reference lab testing as needed
• 7.Independently troubleshoot specimen-related problems
• 8.Assist with inventory and supply management, including supplies to others hospitals and/or customers
• 9.Maintain hardware and equipment as needed
• 10.Uses computer programs in laboratory and hospital-based systems to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval
• 11.Perform other duties as needed
