Medical Intensivist

The Medicine Service Line is seeking a Medical Intensivist to join our collaborative, high-performing team of over 30 physicians and advanced practice providers who care for the most acutely ill patients across all 5 Inova Hospitals.

Our need for intensivists has grown due to increased acuity and patient volume in our adult ICUs. We care for critically ill patients in four adult ICUs at IFMC: Medical-Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU. We also provide critical care consultations throughout the hospital and subspecialty critical care support across the Inova system. Post-ICU care is managed by a team of hospitalists, including a subspecialty hospitalist service for neurologic diseases and injuries.

Requirements:

• Work Schedule: Varies.
• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Experience: Completion of ACGME Internal Medicine residency and fellowship with ABMS board certification in critical care (and neuro-critical care for our neuro ICU).
• Preferred Experience: 3+ years as an attending physician at a large, tertiary care hospital.
• Licensure: Unrestricted Virginia medical license eligibility and DEA registration.
