Job Summary
Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Medical Imaging Associate to join our Radiology team. The role ensures data integrity and patient safety by sending and retrieving DICOM images into PACS systems, verifying clinical content, and coordinating radiology quality assurance activities in compliance with ACR, HIPAA, and state/federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Ensures data integrity and patient safety by managing DICOM image workflows.
- Retrieves and sends images to PACS systems within and outside the organization.
- Maintains and updates technical/professional expertise to create effective customer solutions.
- Coordinates radiology quality assurance activities and oversees the release of radiology information.
- Provides clinician and patient support for continuity of care.
- Performs computer tasks that support clinical processes and maintain accessibility and integrity of patient information.
- Interacts extensively with customers, including patient care providers, nursing homes, clinics, research agencies, patients, family members, attorneys, government agencies, external acute care facilities, and internal customers.
- Delivers customer service based on guidelines and procedures; monitors, documents, resolves, and closes all radiology image/report requests.
- Assesses customer needs and resolves complex service requests within specified service agreement levels.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Required Qualifications
- Computer skills such as databases, word processing, Excel, printer, voicemail, photocopier, fax, and e‑mail.
- Knowledge of computer software and hardware.
- Initiative in identifying problems and outlining solutions.
- Analytical and data management skills for problem solving and decision making around clinical patient data.
- Highly organized and self‑motivated to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Maintains data integrity across all health information electronic systems.
- Service‑oriented with strong customer‑relationship, listening, verbal, written, and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide training to internal customers related to image sharing and availability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to form good working relationships with people at all levels.
- Handles multiple priorities, ambiguity, continuous change, and stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience in a radiology department or related healthcare experience.
- Knowledge of radiology department workflow and various imaging modalities including PACS images.
- Familiarity with specific radiology information applications such as Epic Radiant and PACS.
