Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine invites applications for a summer internship on our Computer Vision team. You will develop and implement state-of-the-art AI/ML methods for medical image and video understanding, across modalities like endoscopy, ultrasound, X-ray, and histopathology.

You will collaborate with clinicians to understand needs, build foundation and multimodal models, and help improve clinical trial efficacy and efficiency. Target start is March 1, 2027, for a six-month period.

Qualifications

• Ongoing Master’s/PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., physics, math, CS, EE)
• Demonstrated CV/ML research experience using modern methods (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs, GANs)
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and image/video understanding techniques
• Strong publication record and ability to communicate complex ideas

Responsibilities

• Conceive and implement interviews with clinical personnel to understand AI needs for medical imaging
• Drive cross-functional discussions and summarize findings into briefing reports
• Extract business value insights from AI pipelines across therapeutic areas
• Design and evaluate computer vision and multimodal models on medical imaging/video data
• Clearly communicate technical results to diverse audiences to inform decisions
