Job summary

Ascension Cedar Park Medical Building in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a qualified administrative assistant to support the Cardiology department. You will greet patients, manage schedules, handle documentation, and support billing and insurance processes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and/or related experience; strong customer service and clerical skills; ability to verify demographics and process payments.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, check in/out, obtain and verify documentation.
• Verify insurance authorizations/precertification and handle medical record releases; schedule appointments.
• Enter, review and submit charges; collect co-payments and reconcile reports.
• Provide general office and clerical support to the Cardiology area.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting.

• Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation. Verify and enter demographic information.
• Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification. Complete medical record release requests and schedule/confirm patient appointments.
• Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
• Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
