Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a key role in creating a positive patient experience. This position is responsible for managing front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and providing general administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner

  • Check patients in and out for appointments, ensuring all forms and documentation are completed

  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using the practice’s scheduling system

  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals

  • Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances

  • Answer incoming calls, route messages, and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

  • Manage front office inventory and keep the reception area clean and organized

  • Communicate effectively with medical staff and support coordination of patient care

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and faxing as needed

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred

  • Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Medicare, etc.) and medical terminology a plus

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred
