Front Office Receptionist – Medical Office
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $18.00-$24.00/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time
What You’ll Do
As the Front Office Receptionist, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through the door or calls the office. You’ll handle a variety of front desk responsibilities including phones, scheduling, patient check-in, insurance information, records, and general administrative support.
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system and route calls appropriately
- Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments
- Assist with patient check-in and front desk processes
- Process records requests and referrals
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and patient information
- Perform accurate data entry and update patient demographics as needed
- Collect patient payments and verify insurance information
- Manage incoming and outgoing documents, faxes, and mail
- Assist with chart management and daily clinic preparation
- Keep the reception and waiting areas clean, organized, and welcoming
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Provide additional administrative support to the medical office team as needed

What you need to have
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of experience in a high public-contact or customer-facing position
- Previous medical office, front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional and friendly customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, high-volume environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and data entry systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize throughout the day
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling patient information
