Title: Medical Facility Planner (Part Time)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Status: Part Time

Position Summary:

Midnight Sun is seeking a Medical Facilities Planner in support of a Federal with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Facilities Enterprise. This position will support DHA Facilities Enterprise by conducting requirements analyses, supporting strategic capital planning efforts, and facilitating facility programming and design documentation. Provides technical expertise in DoD space planning criteria, integrates data-driven planning with mission needs, and ensures alignment with DHA governance across CONUS and OCONUS sites. Site locations: Falls Church, VA, San Antonio, TX, Remote with approval.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, other clinical area, engineering, architecture, or healthcare administration required.
  • Your resume must reflect 5+ years of experience and working knowledge of health facility planning and design and healthcare delivery.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • High level of proficiency in English communication, both written and oral.
  • Working knowledge and executive level understanding of the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense Health Agency, DHA Facilities Enterprise, DHNs and the Services facility planning organizations).
  • Working knowledge of DoD medical space planning and design criteria, DoD space and equipment planning system (SEPS), and industry standards for the planning and design of medical facilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex healthcare requirements using population health data, workload forecasts, and network adequacy evaluations to support facility and capital investment planning.
  • Ability to advise senior leadership and facilitate cross-functional teams on strategic planning, business process improvement, and integration of planning initiatives across CONUS and OCONUS sites.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety requirements, to include OSHA standards and EM 385-1-1, and other regulations as applicable.
  • Ability to develop and review technical documentation, briefing materials, and planning artifacts with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal guidance and DHA governance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Certifications/Licenses/Other

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain site/facility access.
