Job summary

Avina Healthcare seeks a Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor to lead housekeeping and laundry operations in a healthcare setting.

You will hire and train staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with state and federal health and safety codes while maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents, team members, and visitors. This role requires facility experience and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in housekeeping and laundry supervision in a skilled nursing or medical facility.
• Knowledge of infection control, OSHA, safety regulations.
• Working knowledge of basic laundry, plumbing, electrical, and heating/air conditioning mechanical equipment and systems.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all activities of housekeeping personnel; inspect work and instruct staff to correct errors.
• Maintain cleaning and laundry supplies, linens, and amenities; keep inventory on hand.
• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action.
• Periodically examine common areas for repairs or replacement and make recommendations.
• Conduct orientation training of new employees and in-service training on policies and procedures.
• Update departments daily via hospitality software on status of clean/dirty units.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss policies and owner/guest complaints and suggest improvements.
• Laundry work, landscaping work, holiday lighting, baggage handling, transportation, and deliveries.
• Supervise and coordinate soiled laundry per infection control procedures.
• Attend meetings and in-services as directed.
• Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
