Responsibilities

This role supports patient care by ensuring clinical and administrative spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and infection control. The schedule primarily includes afternoon and evening hours, with travel between sites.ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment across multiple HCHC locationsPerform routine cleaning of exam rooms, waiting areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces across assigned medical locationsDisinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches, counters, medical equipment) in accordance with infection control standardsClean light fixtures, handrails, elevator, and hallways, using appropriate cleaning agents like disinfectants and furniture polish.Empty trash and biohazard waste containers and ensure proper disposal procedures are followedSweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors to ensure a clean and professional appearanceRestock supplies such as paper towels, soap, gloves, and sanitizing materialsClean, sterilize, and sanitize patient areas between use, as neededFollow all OSHA, CDC, and HCHC safety and sanitation guidelinesMaintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and report maintenance needsTravel between designated office locations according to daily scheduleAssist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as neededSecure facilities after cleaning when working evening hours (lock doors, turn off lights, set alarms if required)Communicate any safety hazards, damages, or supply shortages to managementEnsure all equipment used for daily duties—including cleaning carts, buckets, mops, and dusting cloths—are properly maintained, cleaned, and inventoried.Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills and AbilitiesUnderstanding of infection control practices in a healthcare environmentAbility to safely handle and dispose of regular and biohazard wasteStrong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standardsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionEffective time management skills across multiple locationsReliable, punctual, and able to follow assigned schedulesStrong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply needsPhysically able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30–40 poundsAdaptability to different office layouts and cleaning needs across multiple sitesProfessional, respectful, and aligned with HCHC’s mission and valuesEducation and ExperiencePrior housekeeping or janitorial experience, ideally in a healthcare settingKnowledge of proper cleaning techniques and infection control practices preferredAbility to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locationsReliable transportation and valid driver’s license requiredStrong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standardsAlignment with HCHC’s mission of delivering compassionate, community-focused carePhysical RequirementsActive role requiring standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motionAbility to lift up to 30–40 poundsExposure to cleaning chemicals and clinical environmentsRoutine travel between multiple HCHC locationsBenefits:401k Match up to 4%, Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, generous Paid Time Off, Holiday, Paid Maternity and Parental Leave.Work Schedule:Afternoon and evening hours, typically after clinic operationsFlexible scheduling may include occasional weekendsWork Location:You are required to travel to any of our sites as part of your responsibilities at any time.
