Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is seeking a dedicated equipment technician to manage, inventory, set up, disassemble, and clean medical equipment across patient care areas. You will handle Omnicell supply management and assist with special order purchases, while supporting maintenance and safety initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS/CPR, and experience with medical equipment in a hospital setting; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment and supply inventory.
• Maintains inventory of special-order items and completes paperwork to ensure items are charged appropriately.
• Avoids waste and duplication of supplies.
• Helps coordinators project budgets for repairs, replacement and new purchases.
• Follows up with HH Biomedical Department on requested safety checks and repair work orders on medical equipment to enhance the Quality Improvement Program.
• Coordinates preventative maintenance programs for equipment in all areas.
• Assists other department staff with stocking unit supplies, cleaning supply room and performing clerical tasks.
• Represents the unit on collaborative CCMC committees with members of Safety, Hazard Materials, MSDS, EOC.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related differences and needs from neonate through adolescence and applies them to practice.
• Demonstrates culture sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families.
• Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization through CCMC Standards.
• Provides inventory and maintenance functions for equipment related to CCMC programs.
• Assists physicians with the set-up of traction equipment.

Job Description
