Job summary

CHOP is seeking a Decontamination Technician to clean and process reusable pumps and durable medical equipment across the main campus. You will assess equipment, verify basic functions, and ensure proper cleaning per IFU and procedures.

Responsibilities include inventory, documentation, and coordination with the Biomed Department. The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, efficient decontamination room, training for cross-functional tasks, and meeting daily throughput targets while upholding high

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and programs.
• Must be a “critical thinker” with an ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment.
• Strong product knowledge a must.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work with good organizational skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical condition of equipment for damage.
• Verify devices turn on/off to confirm basic function.
• Clean devices per IFU and procedures.
• Bag and transport clean devices to storage area.
• Stage equipment for pickup with proper storage and charging.
• Maintain electronic documentation for processing equipment and productivity levels.
• Coordinate transport and pickup for damaged equipment with Biomed Department.
• Retrieve reusable pumps and DME across the main campus.
• Inventory management and related projects as assigned.
• Replace damaged or missing parts on DME (e.g., shower chairs, commodes).
• Train to maintain cross-functional understanding and safety policies.
• Support other areas to ensure processing priorities are met.
• Assist with new equipment implementations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly Decontamination Room.
• Clean 20–25 pieces per hour as trained.
• Collect soiled pumps and DME twice per shift.
