Job summary

Red Nucleus, based in Toronto, is seeking a Medical Editor to join our global team in a hybrid role. You will ensure medical copy is accurate, readable, and aligned with editorial style for clients in the life sciences sector.

You have a passion for science, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Remote candidates outside Toronto may be considered for the right profile.

Qualifications

• BA/BSc or 5 years related industry experience.
• Minimum three years of copywriting/editing experience.
• Pharma/agency experience beneficial.
• Exemplary written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Independent and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Edit copy to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and style.
• Record changes in copy deck formats with decisions and references.
• Review IA/wires/functional specs for branding, flow and grammar.
• Proofread designs and builds to verify copy inclusion and formatting vs specifications.
• Review scripts, storyboards and animation for content and client feedback.
• Adapt existing medical copy and write new copy with support of a medical writer.

As a Medical Editor at Red Nucleus, you will check over the Medical Writers' final drafts to ensurethey'refree of errors and make sure the writing is easy to read and fits Red Nucleus' and the client's editorial style.You have a passion for writing, a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work well under pressure. You have a passion for science, cancome up withgreat ideas and are a positive and collaborative team-player. Youare able towork well in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment. You are motivated, a self-starter, independent andresults-oriented. You have excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Edit copy to correct errors of spelling, grammar and punctuation, ensure stylistic consistency, and enhance readability.
• Work within copy deck formats that appropriately record changes, style decisions, source materials, and referencing requirements.
• Review IA/wires/functional spec for branding, flow, and for correct spelling,punctuationand grammar.
• Proofread designs and builds to verify that all copy has been included, to check formatting against specifications, toidentifyany layout issues, and to read for overall comprehension.
• Review scripts,storyboardsand animation work for inclusion of all content and client feedback.
• Adapt existing medical copy and write new copy asrequired, with the support of a medical writer for research.

About You

• BA/BSc or 5 years related industry experience
• Minimum three years of experience in copywriting/editing.Previouspharma/agency experience beneficial.
• Exemplary written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and highly organized individual.

Compensation Disclosure:

Thecompensationrange for this role is $64,000 to $77,000 CAD. Compensationwill be determined based on an applicant's skills, competencies, experience, and qualifications. Employees may progress within this range over time based on performance, tenure, and internal equity considerations.
