Job summary

Inova Health's Center for Personalized Health is seeking a dedicated Dosimetrist I to join our team. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday and includes a sign-on bonus to welcome you.

Responsibilities include designing, evaluating, and refining treatment plans using CT/MRI data, contouring organs at risk, and collaborating with the radiation oncology team to ensure safe, effective dosing. You will maintain thorough records and pursue CMD credentials within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dosimetry or related field.
• Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board Eligible.
• Willingness to pursue CMD credentials within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes patient-specific data (CT, MRI) to support treatment planning and contours organs at risk per standards.
• Independently designs, develops, and optimizes radiation treatment plans for simple to intermediate cases in collaboration with the radiation oncology team.
• Uses planning software to calculate appropriate radiation dosage and beam arrangements with patient-specific factors in mind.
• Evaluates and refines plans to meet dose constraints, ensuring target coverage and OAR sparing; documents trade-offs.
• Maintains accurate records of treatment plans and patient data; transfers plans to the OIS for physics review and treatment.
• Stays current on dosimetry advances; pursues CMD credentials within 12 months; performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Dosimetry or related field

Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes patient‑specific data, such as CT scans, MRI images, and patient medical histories, to support the treatment planning process. Contour organ at risk per department standards.
• Independently designs, develops, and optimizes radiation treatment plans in collaboration with the radiation oncology team for patients with simple to intermediate complexities and disease sites.
• Utilizes treatment planning software and computer programs to calculate the appropriate radiation dosage and beam arrangements while considering patient‑specific factors and critical structures.
• Evaluates and refines treatment plans to ensure they meet prescribed dose and safety guidelines while minimizing potential side effects. Assess target coverage, conformity, and OAR sparing against prescription and dose constraints; iterate to meet clinical goals and document trade‑offs.
• Maintains accurate and detailed records of treatment plans, patient information, and all relevant data in compliance with regulatory standards. Complete plan documents and transfer plans to the OIS accurately for physics review and treatment.
• Stays updated on the latest advancements in radiation therapy, dosimetry techniques, and treatment planning technologies through continuous learning and professional development opportunities. Maintains board‑eligible status and pursue the CMD credentials within 12 months of hire.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
