Job summary

Kuresmart is seeking a Medical Doctor to evaluate, diagnose and manage patients' pain issues in line with the standard of care. The role uses multimodal approaches including medication, interventional management, physical therapy, and bracing where appropriate.

You will explain procedures, interpret tests, maintain medical records, supervise staff and collaborate with clinicians and administration to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain current licensure as a medical doctor in the state of practice.
  • Must possess and maintain a current DEA license.
  • ACLS and BLS certification may be required depending on regional requirements.
  • MD/DO degree required and competency in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, diagnoses and manages patient pain issues per standard of care.
  • Utilizes multimodal treatments including medication, interventional management and PT.
  • Explains procedures and treatment goals to patients.
  • Interprets medical tests and conveys results to patients.
  • Maintains timely and complete medical records.
  • Monitors patient compliance with the treatment plan.
  • Ensures confidentiality and compliance with health privacy laws.
  • Liaisons with other medical professionals involved in patient care.
  • Oversees coordination with medical assistants, nurses and staff.
  • Mentors and trains new medical staff as needed.
  • Participates in required trainings and quality improvement initiatives.

Job description

The Medical Doctor is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and managing patient's pain issues in accordance with the standard of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes a multimodal approach to include but not limited to medication and interventional management, physical therapy and bracing where appropriate.
  • Explains procedures or prescribed treatments to patients along with treatment goals.
  • Interprets medical tests in the context of patient care and explains results to patients.
  • Completes all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Monitors patient's compliance to treatment plan (i.e.: obtaining urine drug screens, where applicable).
  • Adheres to company policies, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Records complete, timely and legible medical records.
  • Liaises with other medical professionals related to patient care.
  • Keeps up to date with medical developments.
  • Promotes the company's core values.
  • Coordinates with medical assistants, nurses and other medical staff.
  • Ensures all personnel and all patients are treated without limitation because of race, creed, sex or national origin.
  • Collaborates with administrative team to optimize the Clinic functionality.
  • Assists with marketing, as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
  • Mentors/trains new medical staff (i.e.: Medical Doctor’s, Mid-Level Providers, etc.), as needed
  • Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
  • Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must possess and maintain current licensure as a medical doctor in the state in which services are performed.
  • Must possess and maintain a current DEA license.
  • May be required to possess a current ACLS and BLS certification, depending on regional requirements.
  • Medical Degree (MD/DO)
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
  • Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.

  • If working in the ASC, must provide proof of influenza vaccination annually.
  • If working in the ASC, must complete two (2)-step PPD.
  • Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.
  • Must be able to effectively oversee, manage and direct a team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Must have a compassionate nature with the ability to make patients feel at ease.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of prior experience working in a Pain Management practice.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • One (1) year of experience within an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or performing in-office procedures.
Driving/Travel:

The employee must have reliable transportation. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee’s home, work assignments could be in any of the Company’s locations.
