Job summary

Brown Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to lead our AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Peoria, Illinois. This role combines medical leadership with an active clinical caseload, including performing routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and mentoring the clinical team.

You'll partner with hospital leadership to grow the practice, expand services, and maintain exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative, supportive culture.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school.
• Active Illinois veterinary license (or eligible).
• Leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
• Strong soft tissue surgical skills.
• Passion for coaching, collaboration, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership while maintaining an active clinical caseload.
• Perform routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries.
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and support staff.
• Promote medical excellence and uphold standards of patient care.
• Partner with hospital leadership to support growth and strategic initiatives.
