Job summary

The Pet Hospitals Lakeland, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, seeks a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director in Lakeland, TN. The role leads medical standards, mentors veterinarians, and guides hospital performance with a strong focus on team development.

Compensation includes a base salary of $165,000–$175,000, plus a Medical Director stipend, production bonuses with no negative accrual, and a comprehensive benefits package. Relocation and sign-on may be available.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent; valid state veterinary board license in good standing
• Active DEA license or eligible
• At least three years of veterinary practice experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication; strong medical ethics
• Interest or experience in surgery and dentistry preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead medical standards and drive clinical excellence across the hospital
• Recruit, retain, coach, and develop associate veterinarians
• Collaborate with practice manager and leadership to monitor hospital performance
• Provide mentorship and foster a collaborative, team-first culture
• Support hospital operations with data-informed decision making
