Medical Director - Surgery - Remote - 2287274

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. and involves providing physician support to Enterprise Clinical Services, focusing on clinical reviews related to benefit coverage and medical necessity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct coverage reviews based on member benefits and policies, and render determinations.
  2. Document findings and outcomes in compliance with policies and regulations.
  3. Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with requesting providers.
  4. Interpret benefit language and policies during clinical reviews.
  5. Participate in daily clinical rounds as needed.
  6. Collaborate with providers and internal teams to ensure accurate benefit determinations and educate providers on policies.
  7. Participate in call coverage rotations.
Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board certification in Surgery.
  • Unrestricted medical license.
  • At least 5 years of clinical practice post-residency.
  • Understanding of Evidence-Based Medicine.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Preferred Skills
  • Board certification in bariatric surgery.
  • Experience in utilization review and clinical coverage.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $238,000 to $357,500 annually, based on experience and performance. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
