The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston seek a board-certified cardiologist with expertise in structural heart disease to lead a high-volume, high-quality program at BCM and Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC).
This leadership position requires recognized excellence in clinical structural heart disease including transcatheter therapies for aortic, mitral, and tricuspid diseases. In addition, this leader should have a record of advancing this dynamic field through clinical research and innovation as well as a strong record of scholarship. The successful candidate will have a history of developing and/or fostering a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to clinical, research, and educational initiatives.
The Division of Cardiology at BCM is renowned for its comprehensive cardiovascular care and cutting-edge research, offering advanced treatments in heart failure, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, congenital heart conditions, and lipid disorders. The division consists of 64 faculty and 51 fellows, providing care across BSLMC, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Ben Taub Hospital.
BCM recently announced a historic affiliation with The Texas Heart Institute, expanding its impact in cardiovascular patient care, research, and education.
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, with responsibilities spanning clinical practice, program leadership, research, and education.
