Newport Healthcare is seeking a Medical Director Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership for our St. Cloud and Wright County Residential Treatment Programs for Adolescents and Young Adults in Minnesota.

The Director reports to the Executive Director and will conduct initial evaluations, offer counseling, and oversee psychiatric care. This role requires an MD, board certification in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry, licensed practice in Minnesota, and at least five years of medical

Qualifications

• MD required and licensed to practice in Minnesota.
• Board-certified in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
• Residential psychiatry experience is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Medical Director/Physician leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee psychiatric care for residents in the program.
• Conduct initial evaluations within 48 hours of admission.
• Lead staff training on key psychiatric issues and standards.
• Collaborate with Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outreach teams.
• Manage a caseload and document encounters in the EMR with progress notes.
• Support admissions with initial evaluations and assessments.
• Communicate with families and outpatient providers.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and utilization reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Physician Collaborative Agreements and age-appropriate care.

Newport Healthcare is seeking a Medical Director Psychiatrist to provide clinical and leadership services for our St. Cloud & Wright Co., MN Residential Treatment Programs for Adolescents & Young Adults. The Director reports to the Executive Director and will conduct initial evaluations, offer counseling, and oversee psychiatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dedicated mental health team to oversee psychiatric care for all residents.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations within 48 hours of admission.
• Attend to residents requiring psychiatric assistance during treatment.
• Facilitate staff training on key psychiatric issues and standards.
• Liaise with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outreach teams to build relationships with hospitals.
• Manage a caseload and document patient encounters through progress notes and EMR.
• Provide support for patient admissions, including initial evaluations and assessments.
• Maintain excellent communication with families and outpatient providers.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and assist with utilization reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Physician Collaborative Agreements and provide age‑appropriate care.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctorate in Medicine (MD) required.
• Board Certification: Board Certified in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with adolescent psychiatry is required.
• Residential Experience: Experience in residential settings is strongly preferred.
• Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of Medical Director/Physician leadership experience is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $350,000 to $425,000, depending on education and experience.
