Bucksport Regional Health Center seeks a Medical Director to define the clinical program, lead physician and mid-level teams, and drive quality improvement for ambulatory and primary care. This role ensures high-quality patient care while managing resources cost-effectively.

The position requires extensive experience in family/internal medicine, leadership in medical services, and board certification, with a focus on serving homeless and low-income populations within an FQHC environment.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years in family or internal medicine.
• At least five years directing medical services.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Maine.
• Residency in Family Practice or Med/Peds.
• Board Certified.
• Experience with homeless and low-income populations.
• Knowledge of quality improvement concepts.
• FQHC environment knowledge.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct patient care.
• Provides leadership and oversight of medical staff through supervision and audits.
• Participates in recruitment and regular performance reviews.
• Ensures productivity standards and maintains medical policies and guidelines.
• Develops and oversees a quality assurance plan with audits and corrective actions.
• Represents the health center at clinical and public health meetings.
• Conducts peer review and sets standards for evidence-based care.
• Collaborates with Practice Manager to run monthly provider meetings.
• Participates in organization meetings on quality, compliance, and management.
