Job summary

Northwest Human Services is seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while maintaining an active clinical practice. The role is approximately 75% clinical practice and 25% leadership, focusing on quality, patient safety, and integrated care.

The Medical Director will collaborate with operational leadership, support provider development, and improve access and experience for patients within NWHS’s whole-person care model.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice experience in ambulatory, primary care, community health, or integrated healthcare settings.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical leadership experience, such as Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Clinical Lead, Clinical Director, Physician Supervisor, or similar role.
• Completion of Primary Care residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
• Board certification.
• Current Oregon medical licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe medications in Oregon.
• Current BLS certification consistent with American Heart Association guidelines.
• Experience providing clinical consultation, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback to physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Experience leading or participating in quality improvement, patient safety, peer review, or clinical performance initiatives.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HRSA, FTCA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and applicable state regulations.

Responsibilities

As Medical Director, you'll work closely with clinical and operational leadership to support our teams, improve patient access and experience, and advance NWHS’s commitment to whole-person care.

What You'll Do

Lead & Support Clinical Teams

• Provide clinical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other clinical staff.
