Job description

Allure Healthcare Service is looking for a Medical Director to join our team in the LaSalle County area.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  1. The physician serves as the medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities they are responsible for.
  2. Medical directorship functions include attending and participating in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings; engaging in quality improvement initiatives; providing guidance to facility staff; reviewing and revising (if necessary) the facility's clinical guidelines; ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; training facility staff; and supervising facility clinical staff.
  3. In addition to the medical director role, the physician also serves as the attending physician for residents at each facility.
  4. The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage daily resident care at each facility. Typically, each facility will have a full-time PA or NP assigned, depending on the acuity and volume of the patient population.
  5. The physician provides high-quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on residents in SNFs.
  6. The physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with acute illnesses, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic diseases like hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.
  7. PointClickCare is used as our facility EHR system.
  8. The physician participates in Theoria's Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM, and other medical quality initiatives and programs.
  9. The physician must be able to supervise collaborating nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  10. The physician must be proficient in utilizing electronic/online medical tools such as EHR systems and state/county medical systems used for Death Certificates and administrative functions.

Shift Structure

  • Shifts are flexible depending on physicians' schedules.
  • Typically, medical directors work a minimum of 2-3 days per week at each facility.
  • Rounding times are flexible, with no fixed start or end time. Preferably, physicians start between 7-10 a.m. and finish when their caseload has been seen.
  • This is an in-person position.
