Medical Director - Pediatric Otolaryngology - EviCore (Finance)

Join EviCore, part of Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, as a Pediatric Otolaryngology Medical Director. In this role, you will provide evidence-based medical reviews for patient care, collaborate with healthcare providers, and stay informed about healthcare regulations and industry trends. How you'll make a difference:
  • Participate in remote training supported by trainers, mentors, and leadership.
  • Conduct timely, specialized medical case reviews for medical necessity using eviCore's case management software.
  • Engage in physician consultation calls to discuss evidence-based medical necessity and appropriateness of services or treatments.
  • Recommend alternative services or treatments based on your clinical judgment.
  • Collaborate with over 500 eviCore physicians to ensure patients receive appropriate, evidence-based care.

Requirements:
  • M.D. or D.O. with an active U.S. medical license and board certification in Pediatric Otolaryngology (American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association)
  • Preferred but not required: state medical licenses for DC, MD, or VA
  • Eligible for additional state licensure as needed
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience post-residency/fellowship
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws
  • Utilization Review Accreditation and NCQA standards are a plus
  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule (Monday-Friday)
  • Strong computer skills for autonomous work with automated systems
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including typing, speaking, and listening continuously
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (cable or fiber optic, at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload) for remote work

Salary range is approximately $203,200 - $338,600 annually, depending on experience and location, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus.
