Job description

We’re seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist who is board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care to serve as Medical Director, Pediatric CVICU at Ochsner Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, the #1 ranked children’s hospital in Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report. Responsibilities will include leadership, development, and oversight of the physicians in this state-of-the-art 12-bed CVICU with teaching responsibilities for pediatric residents, medical students and allied health students. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is excited to announce their expansion with the building of a new separate, comprehensive and dedicated children’s hospital on the Ochsner main campus expected to open in 2027.

The team will care for patients in an expanding 54-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide, in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

In addition to patient care, faculty are involved in teaching residents in the Ochsner Surgery and Pediatrics Residency program as well as medical students from the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana also recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.
