Medical Director of IICAPS/Child Psychiatrist

Position Summary

Overseeing medical/psychiatric care in the child department and serving as medical director of the IICAPS program, in addition to providing evaluation and treatment to child clients and consultation/training services to Bridges' non-medical staff.

Compensation and Work Schedule

$225.00-$250.00 per hour

Non-benefited/6-12 hours per week

Remote work is an option

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clinical management to oversee operations of the IICAPS program.
  • Attend IICAPS network meetings as needed.
  • Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to the child and outpatient program medical staff.
  • Serve as medical consultant in child and adolescent team meetings.
  • Provide direct clinical/medication services to adolescents and children.
  • Maintain client records.
  • Provide clinical leadership to staff and consultation to non-medical staff.
  • Ensure coordination of client medical care.
  • Collaborate with the fiscal department in developing budgets and forecasts for the child and adolescent medical department.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining relationships with community agencies, schools, or individuals.
  • Perform other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited college or university and completed residency in psychiatry.
  • Board Certified/eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Current Connecticut medical license, State Controlled Substance Registration, Federal DEA certificate, and Buprenorphine waiver.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication, documentation, and computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse.
  • Experience in counseling/therapeutic methods and prescribing medications.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize schedules and demands.
