Job description

Our Client is seeking a Medical Director of Occupational Medicine. The Medical Director is responsible for clinical services of the Occupational Medicine Department as well as health services, such as the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries, as well as, recommending and/or prescribing treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects. This Medical Director will also be responsible for oversight of an additional nearby location.

In addition, the Medical Director is responsible for the supervision of physician extenders (PA’s, NP’s, and CPP’s) within the Occumed program. The Medical Director will work with the Baptist Health Occupational Medicine group to ensure competitive customer premiums and effectiveness of healthcare services received by enrollees of the health plan through the active development and management of medical cost management programs and strategies. He / She will participate on various committees that impact the health and wellness of the employees and patients including active participation in the development of corporate wellness initiatives.

Lastly, the Medical Director will work with leadership to identify and implement best practices in the Occupational Medicine Department, and serve as a physician leader in our efforts to provide appropriate corporate health services to our community.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Medical School.
• Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Public Health (MPH).
• Required License: Board Certified in Primary Care Specialty (i.e., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Pediatrics).
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky. Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO).
• Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a corporate medical director in Occupational Health or at least five years of experience in a variety of occupational industries.
