Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
- Board certification or board eligibility through a recognized specialty board.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Favorable background investigation through the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Minimum of 5 years of medical practice experience.
Preferred
- Experience with TRICARE, Veterans Affairs, or other federal health plans.
- 2+ years of experience in managed care environments.
- Advanced degree in management (MPA, MBA, MHA, MPH).
- Corporate-level leadership experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide program-wide clinical guidance across multiple domains including Utilization Management, Case Management, Quality, and Public Health.
- Lead and participate in quality committees and safety initiatives.
- Review member cases for appropriateness and quality; document findings in health systems like CareRadius.
- Conduct peer discussions with providers and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for clinical quality or provider performance.
- Collaborate with teams such as Clinical Operations, Data Analytics, and General Counsel.
- Support the Emergency Operations Center during contingency operations, possibly including 24/7 coverage.
- Provide expertise on new technologies, protocols, and population health initiatives.
- Engage with veterans and beneficiaries to support satisfaction and outcomes.
- Maintain licensure, board certification, and adhere to federal standards.
Working Conditions:
- Remote work with standard weekday hours and occasional after-hours.
- Limited travel as needed.
- Potential short-notice deployment to austere environments.
- Prolonged computer-based work; sitting for extended periods.
- Security clearance required; obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
