Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Newark, New Jersey seeks an experienced, board-certified OB/GYN to serve as Medical Director of Labor & Delivery at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This role provides clinical leadership for labor and delivery with a focus on quality, safety, and operational performance, and the Medical Director will maintain an active clinical practice.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school and completion of an OB/GYN residency.
• Board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology by ABOG or AOBOG.
• At least five years of post-residency obstetric practice, with high-acuity L&D experience.
• Unrestricted NJ medical license, DEA, and NJ CDS or eligible.
• Current ACLS certification and credentialing eligibility at Newark Beth Israel.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction for Labor & Delivery and the laborist/hospitalist service.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on maternal and newborn outcomes.
• Implement evidence-based patient safety practices and safety bundles.
• Lead peer review, case review, and safety event analyses.
• Maintain an active OB/GYN clinical practice.
