Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA seeks an experienced Medical Director of Kidney Transplant to lead the program with clinical excellence and strategic oversight. The role emphasizes leadership, policy development, and collaboration with surgical leadership to advance patient care.

The ideal candidate will guide transplant operations, ensure quality standards, and serve as a primary physician within UNOS guidelines while driving program growth for the region.

Qualifications

• Valid PA medical license or eligibility in Pennsylvania.
• Post fellowship experience in clinical transplant nephrology is preferred.
• Meet UNOS criteria as primary physician for Kidney Transplant Program.

Responsibilities

• Manage transplant patients in various phases of care: evaluation, donor assessment, waitlist management, post-transplant care, and cost-containment strategies.
• Oversee inpatient kidney transplant service with physicians, APPs and nurses.
• Review transplant-related adverse events and complications; ensure safety and quality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address systemic issues and process changes.
• Lead development of clinical and administrative policies for kidney transplant and quality indicators.
• Drive growth initiatives to increase referrals and transplant activity; participate in outreach and CME activities.
