Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a physician leader to join an academic-affiliated health network and guide a growing cancer program. You will combine hands-on clinical practice with site medical director responsibilities, shaping a comprehensive oncology service line from a leadership seat.

The role offers leadership over recruitment, mentorship, and care delivery, with a focus on quality metrics and program growth within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• MD with NY medical license is required.
• Board certification in Medical Oncology is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Hematology is required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical Oncology/Hematology experience post-fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders.
• Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards with surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and supportive care teams.
• Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program.
• Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers.
• Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety, and patient experience.
• Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings.
• Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on strategic and operational priorities.

What You'll Bring:
