Job summary

International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis in New York seeks a physician leader to blend hands-on clinical practice with site medical director responsibilities, helping shape an accredited cancer program from a leadership seat.

The role targets MDs with NY license and board-certified Medical Oncology (or Hematology eligibility) plus 5+ years of experience; leadership experience is preferred as the program grows.

Qualifications

• MD with active NY medical license.
• Board certification in Medical Oncology.
• Hematology board certification or eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and long-term management of hematologic/oncologic disorders.
• Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies including chemotherapy and targeted treatments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards with surgical, radiation, pathology and supportive care teams.
• Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program.
• Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers.
• Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety and patient experience.
• Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings.
• Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on strategic priorities.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of patients with malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders
• Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards alongside surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and supportive care teams
• Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program
• Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers
• Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety, and patient experience
• Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings

What You’ll Bring:

• MD with active NY medical license
• Board certified in Medical Oncology; board certified or eligible in Hematology
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology post-fellowship
• Prior leadership experience (site director, medical director, or similar) strongly preferred
