About the Role

Amgen is committed to serving patients by discovering and developing innovative therapies. We are expanding our focus in the Obesity/Cardiovascular-Metabolic therapeutic area, supporting preclinical and clinical programs. As a Medical Director, you will lead scientific and medical strategies for early-phase clinical development and serve as a key leader within our teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and medical leadership for translational and clinical programs in the Obesity/Cardiometabolic area.
• Act as medical monitor for clinical trials, resolving major issues.
• Represent Amgen in interactions with regulatory agencies and external partners.
• Guide and oversee external collaborations and internal team training.
• Serve as primary contact for discovery and clinical research scientists.
• Evaluate external partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum: MD/DO from an accredited institution, with at least 2 years of clinical or basic science research experience.

Preferred: Subspecialty board certification in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, or Cardiology; experience with clinical trial data; regulatory knowledge; publications; and expertise in data analysis tools.
