Job summary

The ASPCA's Carson Community Veterinary Clinic seeks an experienced veterinarian to serve as Medical Director, shaping clinical standards and leading a mission-driven medical team focused on high‑quality, high‑volume care including HQHVSN.

This role emphasizes medical leadership, preventive care, mentorship, and collaboration with regional leaders, with on-site work in California. No on-call, overnights, or after‑hours emergencies are required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license in California and eligible to practice.
• 5 years of veterinary experience in small animal practice.
• 4 years of leadership/people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical standards and supervise 3–5 veterinarians.
• Provide high‑quality, high‑volume spay/neuter and preventive care.
• Mentor clinicians and coordinate with regional Medical Leaders.
• Ensure compliant, low-stress patient handling and SOP adherence.
• Oversee patient and client experiences to maximize community impact.
