Summary of Position

Under the direction of the Sr. Medical Directors, the Medical Director, Clinical Quality will develop improvement interventions for primary care quality measures, create clinical guidance for virtual care conditions, and serve as the key clinical quality and safety stakeholder for implementing a new EMR. This role ensures the quality and safety of virtual care delivery, executing physician-led quality improvement initiatives, and designing clinical pathways based on literature review and collaboration with virtual care leaders. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Essential Duties
  1. Implement physician-led quality improvement initiatives for virtual primary care and chronic conditions, focusing on diabetes and hypertension, aligned with NCQA HEDIS standards.
  2. Develop and deliver clinical training materials for providers and care teams.
  3. Recommend workflow improvements to enhance quality measure performance.
  4. Create clinical guidelines, policies, and pathways for virtual care, based on literature review and collaboration with experts.
  5. Serve as the clinical quality and safety expert for the EMR implementation, working with informatics teams to develop decision support tools.
  6. Lead projects supporting virtual urgent and primary care, with support from senior directors.
Required Qualifications
  • MD/DO with active Board certification in internal or family medicine.
  • At least 5 years of recent outpatient, ambulatory care experience, including virtual care.
  • Experience reviewing medical literature and creating clinical guidance in large healthcare settings.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement activities and data analytics in healthcare.
  • Over 3 years of experience using EHRs in ambulatory settings to improve quality and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in telehealth/virtual care quality and safety, especially in startups or corporate environments.
  • Expertise in clinical informatics for cloud-based EMRs.
  • Leadership experience in EMR transitions.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including clinicians, informaticians, and business leaders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing priorities and deadlines.

This is a remote position within the U.S., with limited travel. The salary range is $200,000 - $220,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Total compensation depends on various factors.
