Job summary

Qualifications

• Be a licensed physician practicing in the state of Florida.
• Be an anesthesiologist certified by the ABOS, ABOA, or its successor.
• Hold a graduate degree in medicine.
• Have the requisite knowledge and skills to administer clinical/academic aspects of the AA program.
• Have experience delivering educational and health care services.
• Possess a strong commitment to South University and the AA program.

Responsibilities

• Organize, administer, review, plan, and develop processes to ensure general effectiveness of clinical education.
• Maintain regular contact with all education participants in the program.
• Provide continuous and competent medical guidance for clinical program components and didactic curriculum.
• Ensure supervisory clinical instruction meets current standards of practice.
• Advise and mentor anesthesiologist assistant students in professional interactions.
• Participate in Program Advisory Committee activities.
• Participate in admissions review, on-campus interviews, and candidate decisions.
• Represent the department and program at school and external functions.
• Remain clinically active and current in medical practice.
