The role includes teaching within the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship and mentoring medical students; academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. Portland campus fosters collaboration across MaineHealth.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical heart failure experience.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Maine and demonstrated leadership in clinical or academic settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director of the LVAD program, overseeing evaluation, implantation, inpatient management, and long‑term follow-up for durable MCS patients.
• Collaborate with Surgical Director of LVAD Team and LVAD Project Manager to increase LVAD implant volumes.
• Provide strategic leadership for MMC's system‑wide Advanced Heart Failure Section, leading quality, safety, and operational efforts.
• Strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration across the cardiovascular service line.
• Mentor faculty, fellows, residents, students and APPs.
